Best UK voucher codes: how to find codes that actually work
Search any big UK retailer with "discount code" after it and you get a wall of pages promising savings. Most hide the code behind an email sign-up, a survey or a "reveal" button. Here is where codes really come from, and how to spot a good one.
Where voucher codes come from
- Public promotions. Sitewide sales such as 20% off everything for a weekend. Multi-use and the most reliable.
- New-customer codes. A first-order discount, often 10 to 15%. Reliable if you have not ordered before.
- Category or seasonal codes. Tied to one department or an event such as Black Friday.
- Single-use or influencer codes. Personalised, so worth a try but do not count on them.
How to tell a good code from a dud
- Prefer sitewide, multi-use codes with no minimum spend.
- Read the small print: minimum spend, new customers only, sale items excluded.
- Freshness matters. A code seen working this week beats one unconfirmed for months.
- Never pay to see a code. A code behind a paywall or survey is the same code with a toll booth.
